The British Are Headed To Light of Day Asbury Park

A British Invasion is headed to the Asbury Park next month, courtesy of the Annual Light of Day Winterfest.
The 17th annual festival, held in support of the global battle against Parkinson’s Disease, unites British legends Albert Lee [shown in featured photo], Peter Asher [below right] and Joey Molland of Badfinger with a stateside lineup that includes Dramarama, Bobby Bandiera, Remember Jones, and Glenn Alexander of Southside Johnny & the Jukes.
The 10-day, tristate Winterfest has raised close to $4 million since its creation as a 40th birthday celebration for artist, manager and music industry veteran Bob Benjamin, diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1996.
In 2015, Billboard Magazine presented Benjamin with their Humanitarian Award. Benjamin cofounded Light of Day with Executive Director Tony Pallagrosi, whose mother Dolores died in 2002 from the effects of the disease.
Using the power of music to raise money and awareness for the progressively chronic neurological condition that affects movement and muscle control, Light of Day has grown into a global movement, with festivals held in Canada, Australia and across Europe.
Last year events raised a record $525,000, $25,000 over the previous year.
Below is a spotlight of upcoming British Invasion and other events from the Light of Day Foundation:
