Deal Lake Dredging, Personnel issues, and parking on agenda

The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall. A closed executive session will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by a public workshop session at 6:30 p.m. and a regular council meeting at 7 p.m.

Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular session meeting. Items on the agenda include:

• Executive session discussions on personnel matters involving the Chief of Police position, Deputy Chief of Police employment contract, and superintendent of Public Works position.

• Contract negotiation discussion includes the paddle board concessions at Deal Lake.

• And, litigation discussions include workers compensation cases and potential litigation with AP Restaurant II.

• The 6:30 p.m. public workshop session includes review and follow-up discussions on matters addressed at Tuesday night’s workshop meeting.

• The 7 p.m. regular session consent agenda votes include those related to parking concerns, beach concessions, the purchase of utility vehicles, special event fees, and adoption of the new city code.

• Ordinance introductions include handicapped parking areas, adopting city code, and beachfront vendors.

• The public will be given a chance to comment or ask questions during the final votes on changes to the street performer’s guidelines, a 15-minute limit to street parking along Summerfield Avenue, salary compensations for union and nonunion employees, and a temporary easement to facilitate the Deal Lake Dredging project.
