Zombie Walk and iStar's 1101 Ocean project on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall.
A closed executive session will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by a public workshop session at 6:30 p.m. and the regular council meeting at 7 p.m.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda include:
• Executive Session discussions regarding the City Manager, Director of Communications, Chief of Police, and Director of Public Works positions.
• Contract negotiations with Lake Group, Carter Sackman, Interfaith Neighbors, iStar Financial, and Cross River will be addressed.
• Agreements for an insurance broker and financial advisor as well as pending litigation matters complete the private session meeting.
• The Regular Session meeting includes votes pertaining to special event applications and the liquor license extensions needed to accommodate those events.
• The Council will consider awarding bids and contracts for the Boardwalk Lighting Project as well as the Springwood Avenue Improvement Project.
• The governing body will vote on an application for the New Jersey Local Finance Board as well as on the issuance of redevelopment bonds.
• A vote will be made for conceptual approval of iStar’s 1101 Ocean project at the former Esperanza site.
• New ordinances up for consideration includes a special emergency appropriation to fund the city’s Master Plan and its 2015 Road and Sewer Improvements.
