Abandoned properties, increasing fees and special events on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
The public participation session takes place near the end of the meeting, after comments from city officials. Items on the agenda for the meeting include:

Crucial Catch Day – Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey will host a breast cancer awareness educational event complete with mammogram screening via their mobile unit from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13 at the 1301 Main Street location.
Asbury Park sidewalk sale sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce set to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. October 24.
Bond Street block party from 2 p.m to 7 p.m. on October 17 or 24 with rain dates of October 24 or 31.
The Bier Run from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Nov. 1 .85 mile run around Wesley Lake sponsored by Split Second Racing and the Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten.
Jersey Shore Rescue Mission annual coat giveaway and Thanksgiving Meal 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at the corner of Sewall Avenue and Memorial Drive.

An abandoned properties update by Robert McKeon, Director of Property Improvement.
City Clerk Cindy Dye will speak on increasing fee ordinances and the 2016 meeting schedule.
The City Council will discuss 2016 professional service contracts, concessions, and transportation center leases.
