State of the City address and Springwood redeveloopment on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
A closed executive session will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by a public workshop session at 6:30 p.m. and the regular council meeting at 7 p.m.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting.
Items on the agenda include:
• Executive session discussion include pending litigation, contract negotiations and property acquisition.
• Regular session meeting includes the governing body’s State of the City Address and initiative petitions.
• Votes will be taken for board appointments, special events and the annual Memorandum of Understanding with the Planning Board as outlined for the city’s Transitional Aid support from the state.
• The body also will vote on compensation payment for Code Enforcement employee Ronald Vigliotti’s separation from employment, sewer repayments and an updated on connection fees, a search for auditing and billing service consultant, an amendment to the Springwood Avenue Redevelopment Plan that places certain properties within the industrial zone, and a transfer of city owned land to the West Side Community Center.
• The public will have a chance to comment and ask questions prior to a vote to increase the Sunset Avenue Footbridge Sandy repair bond by $550,000 and an update of ABC laws requiring anyone who serves alcoholic beverages at a business within city limits obtain the required ID via the Police Department.
