Downtown Biz Sound Mitigation Changes and Dollar Tree on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers at City Hall at 1 Municipal Plaza.
A public participation session is scheduled to take place near the end of the meeting, after comments from city officials.
Items on the agenda for the meeting include:
• Director of Planning and Redevelopment Michele Alonso’s presentation of proposed changes to the Central Business District [CBD] sound mitigation plan. The changes must be vetted for comment by the Planning Board prior to the City Council’s final vote.
• William Stuckey of Fasano Properties will present changes made to a proposed site plan application for a Dollar Tree at 1005 Main Street.
• City Manager Michael Capabianco is expected to discuss a burglar alarm, set aside and property maintenance ordinances.
• The proposed Special Events list include:
A Farmers Market request for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays from May 14 through Oct. 31 at Fireman’s Park, located on Main Street between Fifth and Sunset avenues.
The Charity Kings sponsored Jazz Festival featuring live performances from noon to 8 p.m. July 1 and 2 in Sunset Park.
Wheelys Café Launch Party, a Pedi cab business, request for the 2 to 6 p.m. May 22nd use of Kennedy Park.
The 25th Annual Pride Parade and Festival to be held from June 5, with the Festival beginning at 10:30 a.m. and running through to 7 p.m. in Atlantic and Bradley parks, and the Parade kicking off at noon and winding through the city across Main Street to Cookman Avenue, proceeding west to Grand Avenue, then east on Sunset Avenue.
Little League and Middle School Baseball Parade from 10 a.m. to noon June 11, setting off from the Middle School on Bangs, traversing Grand Avenue up to Sixth Avenue and back to the High School.
VNACJ Community Day 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Street health Center. The carnival themed event features music, food a kids’ bounce house, games, community health vendors, giveaways, health screenings.
The Tigger House Bicycle Event request for a route through the city for the 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 17 fundraising ride that traverses from Sandy Hook to Bay Head.
Let’s Talk Together is a Mary’s Place by the Sea Walk-a-thon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 21 along the boardwalk from Ocean Grove to Convention Hall and back.
