The Sun’s City Council Preview
iStar Development, CDBG, Snow Removal, & Transportation on Agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting 6 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
A Special Executive Session, to be held directly following the meeting, will focus discussions on the financial/redeveloper’s agreement with waterfront redeveloper iStar for its 1101 Ocean Avenue project. The mixed use project features ground floor retail, a boutique hotel and luxury homes on the upper floors. The City Council acts as the municipality’s redevelopment authority.
A public participation session will take place near the end of the workshop meeting, following comments from city officials. Items on the meeting’s agenda include:
A review of special event applications for this year’s Crucial Catch Day, a Harvest Fest event at Springwood Park, and event request dates by Epic Will Power and the AP Fishing Club.
Director of Community Development Cassandra Dickerson will give a presentation on the 2017 Community Development Block Grant [CDBG] and the municipality’s annual action plan.
City Manager Michael Capabianco is expected to discuss snow removal procedures, a road opening ordinance, and a Transportation Alternative Program [TAP].
