Deal Lake dredging, Dollar Tree & Asbury Lanes Outdoor BBQ on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers at City Hall.
A public participation session is scheduled to take place near the end of the meeting, prior to comments from city officials. Items on the agenda for the meeting include:
• Cablevision’s Government Affairs Director Don Viapree will outline a three-week project to remove their rear-yard utility access along Cookman Avenue to the front along sidewalks. Provisions would be made to maintain business and residential access.
• Don Brockel of the Deal Lake Commission will present the dredging project details.
• Pat Fasano will outline a tax abatement request to construct a Dollar Store at Fourth Avenue and Main Street as well as a request to allow two outdoor barbeque food trucks at Asbury Lanes adjoining outdoor space. Plans include a storage container bar and picnic tables.
• Rob McKeon, the city’s Director of Property Improvement will review the changes to the property maintenance ordinance and outline a creditor’s responsibility.
• Other presentations include Acting Deputy Police Chief Anthony Salerno on parking changes, Director of Commerce Tom Gilmour’s request to publish the 2015 Asbury Park Visitor’s Guide, and Fire Chief Kevin Keddy’s Firefighters Grant application.
