The Sun’s City Council Preview
New Parking App, 2017 Budget, And Capital Improvements On Agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall.
A closed executive session will start at 4 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. public workshop session and the 7 p.m. regular council meeting.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda include:
• The 4 p.m. executive session discussions will include personnel matters regarding the Departments of Community Development and Social Services; and contract negotiations with Sackman Enterprises for the proposed 607 Mattison construction project and the Michaels Group regarding the Renaissance Village project.
• During the 6 p.m. workshop session special events applications will be reviewed and a presentation will be given by Transportation Manager Mike Manzella on a new Parking Mobile Payment App.
• The 7 p.m. Regular Session meeting will include votes on budgetary matters including the issuance of Regional Contribution Agreement allotments for home improvement projects, and appointments to the Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Sunset Lake Commission.
• New ordinance being introduced include the 2017 Preliminary Municipal Budget that comes with a $90 increase for the average assessed homeowner, and establishing a media technician job title and salary guide.
• The public will be given an opportunity to ask questions and make comments prior to the final vote on a $2.86 million capital improvement bond that aims to implement road improvements, vehicle purchases, Main Street streetscape improvements, and technological updates.
