Budget Committee, Infrastructure & Parking Improvements On Agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
There will be a 5 p.m. closed executive session. The public meetings begin at 6 p.m. with a workshop session and is followed by the 7 p.m. Regular City Council Meeting.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting.
Items on the agenda include:
Executive session discussions regarding contract negotiations pertaining to a public right of way use for the 1003 Bond Street residential project, Springwood Avenue Park Construction, and amendments to the Waterfront Redevelopment Plan.
The Workshop will feature a review of special event applications and the regular meeting agenda.
During the Regular meeting proclamations recognizing Pastor Antonious Thigpen and Ricardo ‘Poncho’ Donato will be made.
Votes will be made on budgetary matters, the creation of a budget committee, possible Brownfield remediation at the Asbury Park Fire Department location on Main Street, a watersport concession in a designated Deal Lake area.
The public will have an opportunity to ask questions and make comments prior to the final votes for seven ordinances:
They include a $1.5 million bond for parking utility improvements, $500,000 for sewer improvements, and $1.65 million for road improvements.
The City Council will also consider an adjustment to the Sunset Lake Commission’s terms of service; delineating a handicapped parking spot along the 1,000 block of Sewell Avenue; an air rights agreement associated with the 700 Bangs Ave project’s overhangs on the second to fourth residential floors facing Bangs Avenue and Bond Street; and transforming Heck Street between Fifth and Lake avenues to a one way street in the southerly direction.
