Redevelopment Agreements, Roadwork, Homeless Youth Group Facility, & Boys & Girls Club On Agenda
The Asbury Park City Council will meet Wednesday in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
There will be a 4:30 p.m. closed executive session. The public meetings begin at 6 p.m. with a workshop session and is followed by the 7 p.m. Regular City Council Meeting. Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting.
Items on the agenda include:
Executive Session discussions pertaining to contract negotiations with boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette for the Fourth Avenue Pavilion Subsequent Developers Agreement, with Asbury Partners/iStar for parking and the waterfront redevelopment plan, for the 2018 Professional Services Contracts, and City Hall Request for Proposals. There will also be discussions pertaining to attorney-client privileges.
During the Workshop Session, there will be a review of special event applications, the regular meeting agenda, and results from the dog park survey.
The Regular Session meeting will include votes on budgetary matters, and the following:
• Rescinding pocket liquor license renewals for Asbury One Liquor License and Ohana Kitschen Company.
• The selling of surplus vehicles and slate currently being stored at the Fisherman’s Lot.
• An agreement for the County to take over administration of the City’s federally-funded Community Development Block Grant Program, at a cost of 20 percent of the annual award.
• A contract with Engineering Consultant T&M Associates for the design, construction coordination and inspection services for the Springwood Avenue sanitary sewer line at the railroad tracks for a cost of no more than $135,525.
• A recognition of Interfaith Neighbors’ Rights Of Passage [at right] group facility for homeless youth at 522 Prospect Ave as an affordable housing need in order to further conformity within HOME Program guidelines to facilitate the County’s sponsorship of project funding.
• A six-month extension of its parking agreement for Madison Marquette’s Fifth Avenue Pavilion redevelopment.
• Budgetary increase for Black Rock Enterprises Road Improvement Work for the repavement of Bergh Street between Asbury and First avenues at a $29,660 or 0.82 percent increase over the original $3,628,779.93.
• Public comments and questions will be heard prior to a final vote to approve the scattered site plan amendment to allow for the Boys & Girls Club of Monmouth County accessory parking lot at its property across from its Monroe Avenue location, and for the establishment of salary ranges for electrical, plumbing, and fire inspectors.
