On agenda: Ordinance to establish Deputy Municipal Manager title
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall. A closed executive session will start at 5 p.m., followed by a workshop session at 6 p.m. and a regular council meeting at 7 p.m.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda for both the workshop and regular meeting sessions include:
• Introduction of two ordinances, one to amend the salaries for the city’s subcode official and assistant planner, and one to establish a deputy municipal manager title.
• A discussion about several special event applications, they are: a Bike MS fundraiser, the Fourth Annual Family Day at the Hammary community basketball courts, and a run-walk fundraiser for an LGBT Youth Center, the Q-Spot.
• A vote to approve Mike Sodano for a 1-year term to the APTV Advisory Committee.
• A vote on an application for an appointment to the city’s public safety/code committee.
• A resolution to settle a legal matter with Lucas Construction Group, Inc.
In closed executive session, the council will discuss personnel matters, contract negotiations/potential litigation with boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette and downtown developer Carter Sackman, and sewer connections.
