Kinmon to report on crime; council to vote on funding agreement with iStar
Asbury Park’s city council is scheduled to meet in council chambers tonight, with a closed executive session starting at 5 p.m.; a workshop session at 6 p.m.; and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Items on the agenda include:
• A report on crime from Police Chief Mark Kinmon during the 6 p.m. workshop session.
• Public hearings on ordinances regarding the special assessment agreement to fund infrastructure improvements in the waterfront redevelopment zone during the 7 p.m. regular meeting.
• A tax abatement for the ShowRoom movie theatre located at 707 Cookman Ave.
• Presentations on engineering and department of public works [DPW] matters from city engineer Joe Cunha, during the 6 p.m. workshop session.
Cunha will address the award of a contract for parking pay stations; an agreement with Monmouth County Workforce Development; bids for various boardwalk materials and the annual contract for sanitary sludge and grit from the wastewater treatment plant; a request for qualifications [RFQ] for engineering services; and an RFQ for environmental consulting and licensed site remediation services.
• In closed executive session, the council will discuss the city’s revaluation contract; waterfront redevelopment agreement amendments; 2013 professional service agreements; and labor agreements with the police and fire departments, as well as the city manager.
