On agenda: Public hearing on Green Acres application for Bradley Cove
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall. A closed executive session will start at 5 p.m., followed by a workshop session at 6 p.m. and a regular council meeting at 7 p.m.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda for both the workshop and regular meeting sessions include:
• A public hearing on a resolution for the city to submit an application requesting state Green Acres funds for the preservation of Bradley Cove.
• A discussion and vote on several special event applications, including the 2015 Skate & Surf Festival.
• A discussion with City Engineer Joe Cunha regarding bump-outs at intersections in the Waterfront Redevelopment Agreement to be constructed by master waterfront developer iStar Residential.
• A presentation by City Engineer Joe Cunha on the engineering and public works departments.
• A review and possible discussion of applications for various boards received by the city clerk’s office.
• A vote on resolutions to appoint or reappoint members to the city’s planning board.
• A first reading and vote on two ordinances, one that amends the city’s garbage collection ordinance to require approval from the city manager if the owners of a dwelling seek to store garbage in the front or side yard of the premises, and one that adjusts the amount of towing, storage fees and minimum insurance coverage for tow operators that work with the city.
• Two public hearings will take place prior to the city council’s final vote on two ordinances, one amends the definition of a sidewalk cafe as it pertains to the city’s general licensing ordinance, and the other restructures the city’s lease obligations on the wastewater treatment plant with the Monmouth County Improvement Authority.
In executive session, the council will discuss personnel matters involving workers hired in the city’s public works department, and litigation involving a worker’s compensation matter.
