The Sun’s city council preview – June 19, 2013
Waterfront bike racks, downtown liquor licenses on agenda
The city council is scheduled to meet tonight in council chambers at City Hall. A closed executive session will start at 5 p.m., followed by a workshop session at 6 p.m. and a regular council meeting at 7 p.m.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda for both the workshop and regular meeting include:
• An application to extend the physical boundaries of Johnnie Mac House of Spirit’s liquor license on Main Street for a special event.
• An application to extend Bond Street Bar and Grill’s liquor license to an adjacent building. Click here for more details.
• An application to grant a hotel/motel liquor license [over 100 rooms] to the Empress Motel.
• Liquor license renewals for the 2013-2014 calendar year.
• A resolution to appoint Herb Fehrenback as the second planning board alternate.
• A resolution to refund sewer payment.
• A resolution on estimated 3rd quarter taxes.
• A resolution to extend the due date on 3rd quarter taxes.
• A presentation by Joe Cunha, city engineer director, on a rapid pump for the sewer plant and a street sweeper.
• Consideration of bike racks in waterfront redevelopment zone. Click here for more details.
• An application for Mogo Taco to sponsor a beach bonfire.
In executive session, the council will discuss collective bargaining agreements with the fire union (IAFF), the reappointment of Richard Gartz as temporary finance officer, and several cases of litigation including:
A. Christopher Renzo and Anatoliy Chistov vs. Asbury Park.
B. Baker v. Kinmon/City of AP (Police Liability Claim: case status report).
C. Diaz (2 Workers Compensation claims: request for settlement authority).
D. Lesinski (Workers Compensation claim: request for settlement authority).
E. McCarthy (Workers Compensation claim: request for settlement authority).
F. Pabulinskas (4 Workers Compensation claims: request for settlement authority).
G. Crescio v. City of AP.
