Resolution to designate Springwood Ave redevelopers on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall. A closed executive session will start at 4 p.m., followed by a workshop session at 6 p.m. and a regular council meeting at 7 p.m.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda for both the workshop and regular meeting sessions include:
• A presentation by City Engineer Joe Cunha on the city’s standard snow clearing procedures and the 2014 road program.
• A resolution to authorize retirement compensation to Chief Mark Kinmon.
• A resolution that designates the Michael’s Development group as redeveloper of certain parcels of land within the Springwood Avenue Redevelopment Area and approves a redeveloper agreement between the Michael’s group and the city.
• A resolution that determines a proposed Springwood Avenue housing project, known as Renaissance Village, satisfies existing housing needs in the city and is therefore capable of applying for financing through the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency.
• First reading of an ordinance that amends the city’s general licenses as pertains to towing businesses that operate in the city.
• First reading of an ordinance to amend the city’s leaf and yard waste collection practices.
In executive session, the council will discuss the city police chief’s position, contract negotiations with Michael’s Development Company for the Springwood Avenue Redevelopment Agreement and several matters of litigation.
