The Sun’s City Council Workshop Preview
Special events, road improvements, iStar project on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
The public participation session takes place near the end of the meeting, after comments from city officials. Items on the agenda for the meeting include:
• Special event applications for the Oct. 3 slated Zombie Walk, Pride in the Park Reception, a School Board forum, the Homecoming Parade, October Fest, Harvest Fest, Columbus Day Reenactment, and Harvest Festival.
• T & M Associates’ Christine Ballard will give a presentation on the municipality’s Road Improvement Program.
• Presentation for conceptual approval of the 1101 Ocean Avenue project by iStar Financial.
• Acting Police Chief Anthony Salerno will discuss the city’s one-way streets.
• City planner Michele Alonso will discuss urban transit village destination, establishing a complete streets policy as well as the vacation of certain roadways.
