Winter will not go gently as the sun crosses the celestial equator.
The consolidation of a pair of low pressure systems culminating in major coastal storm Toby late Tuesday into Wednesday has prompted local advisories of schedule changes and closures. According to the Asbury Park Police Department, this will mean mixed precipitation today and tonight, then significant snowfall Wednesday.
“Consideration should be given to no unnecessary travel Wednesday afternoon and evening when the heaviest snow with hourly accumulation rates of 1 to 3 inches should occur,” the APPD advisory warns. A winter storm warning is in effect rom 6 pm Tuesday through 2 a.m. Thursday.
Check back, we will update this posting throughout the storm event.
