Tower Dogs Opens On the Asbury Park Boardwalk
Menu features 100 percent beef, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options
Tower Dogs, the newest addition to the Asbury Park boardwalk, had its official grand opening ceremony Wednesday.
Located inside the First Avenue Pavilion, Tower Dogs’ signature skinless dog is a 100 percent beef recipe that is minimally seasoned and cured, and contains no fillers. There are vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options on the menu.
The secret recipe dates back to 1902 when a new eating club, The Princeton Tower Club, was formed to feed university students, according to a news statement.
Almost a century later, Head Chef Jim Forkel revolutionized the brand by offering made to order, fresh, high-quality options. His standard of using only the finest ingredients, especially when Tower Dogs transitioned into a food truck enterprise, continues today.
Tower Dogs sauces are made from scratch and their toppings are sourced locally when possible.
Their menu features everything from a California Veggie Burger and 100 percent Angus beef Tower Burger to chicken sandwich options and the Asbury Dog, complete with avocado, cucumber, carrot, tomato, lettuce, red onions, and their green goddess dressing.
This month’s special is an Italian Dog, featuring fried peppers and potatoes, with spicy brown mustard and chive garnish.
Tower Dogs is located at 800 Ocean Ave. Their hours of operation are 11 am to 8 pm Sunday through Friday, and 10 am to 8 pm Saturday. For more information, visit tower-dogs.com. Menu options are available in house, via boardwalk dining, takeout, and local delivery.
A late-night menu will be offered Fridays and Saturdays, featuring six specialty dogs.
July 10 diners will be chosen at random to receive t-shirts and can enter to win two tickets to the Aug 3 Sinatra Meets The Sopranos show at the Paramount Theatre, also on the AP Boardwalk.
