Trio Face Charges In Asbury Armed Robbery Case
Witness Tampering Arrests Stem From Attempting To Bribe Victim
Three people are charged with attempting to bribe a witness in a pending robbery case, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced in a written statement.
James Williams, 32, of Red Bank, Hideia Bouie, 21, and Ameer Washington, 27, both of Neptune Township, face 10 years for the second degree witness tampering charge.
Williams, who is currently under indictment for the February armed robbery incident in Asbury Park, is accused of arranging to have Bouie and Washington offer the victim money to recant his story. He faces 20 years for that charge, with no parole until he’s served 85 percent of the sentence.
The trio were remanded to Monmouth County Jail. The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Caitlin Sidley. Williams is represented by John Perrone of Red Bank, Bouie by Jeffrey Coghlan of Freehold, and Washington by Lisa Maglone of Freehold.
