Two churches, one service in Asbury Park on Sunday
Second Baptist Church and Shore Christian Church to pray together at Springwood Park
For the second year, two local Christian churches — one predominantly white, the other predominately African-American — will hold a joint worship experience.
The event takes place this Sunday, August 15 at 10:00 am at the Springwood Park in Asbury Park, at the corner of Springwood and Atkins avenues.
Pastor Semaj Vanzant of the Second Baptist Church (left, above) and Pastor Isaac Friedel (right) of the Shore Christian Church will together lead the service.
“Join us for a tremendous worship experience that will inspire and encourage you!” said Vanzant. “The wonderful aspect of this Sunday is that it manifest the scripture ‘How pleasant it is for brother (and sisters) to dwell together in unity.'”
Attendees should bring their own chairs. There will be a BBQ following the service in the park. A free diaper giveaway will also be held.
