Uncorked Wine Inspired Creations opens on Cookman
Grand opening event 5:30 p.m. Wednesday
If you’ve ever had the yen to take paint brush to canvas, Uncorked Wine Inspired Creations may be just the ticket.
This unique paint and sip studio, invites adults to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy while one of their four local artists walk you through the process of creating a personalized masterpiece.
Uncorked supplies all the necessary accoutrements for any artist in waiting, including wine glasses, brush and canvas, owner Stacy Molinari said.
The newly opened shop at 612 Cookman Avenue [at right] will hold its grand opening ceremony 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
“People should know you don’t have to be an artist,” said Molinari [shown above]. “No experience necessary because everybody has a little artist in them – let me help you bring it out.”
Molinari, a Staten Island native who spent 20 years as a corporate accountant, moved to the Asbury Park a year ago. She began creating paintings for fun when the idea to create a paint and sip studio in the heart of town hit.
“I saw what the franchises were doing and thought we can do this on a smaller scale,” Molinari said. I wanted to do it independently this way the artists that I hired make the paintings that we teach. So our paintings are unique to our artists.”
Uncorked offers a calendar of painting events, available on their website, including a Mimosa Sunday event.
Party bookings are also available for everything from bridal showers, birthday parties and reunions to bachelorette parties, corporate events and fundraisers.
Fundraising events will receive two gift certificates to use as giveaways as well a percent of the proceeds for their charity, Molinari said.
The process takes an average 2½ hours and participants are asked to wear ‘paint friendly’ clothing.
Children ages 10 and older must be accompanied by an adult for afternoon events. Ages 17 and older can participate in evening events but you must be 21-years-old and older to paint and sip alcohol.
“The paintings look complicated but they are not,” Molinari said. “We show you how to make the basic shapes and how to put it together.”
The store’s front is dedicated to the sale of wine novelty items. Recycled wine bottles have been turned into lamps and candle holders, corks are transformed into coasters and ornaments. Picnic wine caddies, thermal wine holders, and wine bottle stoppers are also on the list of unique items for sale. A 10 percent opening discount will be offered through July’s end.
