While efforts continue apace to help those directly impacted by Hurricane Sandy, another push is taking place to get the word out that Asbury Park and other areas of the Jersey Shore are open for business.

And that led Marshall Twinam and his marketing firm Marshall,Jackson&Partners to produce a video that portrays Asbury business owners with “open” signs to get the message out.

Twinam said the idea for the video came out of a discussion with Robert Hilton of the Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau [CVB].

“Everyone in the rest of the country are seeing images of a devastated Jersey Shore, like the roller coaster in the ocean,” said Twinam. “Bob Hilton was hearing from businesses that were starting to get cancellations from people who thought everything was destroyed.”

In an effort to demonstrate Asbury Park remains largely open, Twinam’s firm — located on Bangs Avenue in downtown Asbury Park — made the video for the CVB, he said.

“The most poignant thing was how thankful everyone was that we filmed. They were very appreciative that we were making an effort on the behalf,” said Twinam. “It was very gratifying.”

The film was edited and directed by Tom Parr, an associate at Marshall,Jackson&Partners, and Unleaded Music in Manhattan provided the music track, Twinam said. Click here to watch the video.
