The Asbury Park Community Action Network [AP CAN] will again play a critical role in helping the community understand the Affordable Care Act and seeks volunteers to assist as certified application councelors.

Certified Application Councelors [CACs] provide information about the full range of plan options to caplitalize on marketplace opportunities, assist individuals in applying for coverage, and help facilitate enrollment while complying with privacy and security standards. All volunteers must first be certified prior to Jan. 9. Click here to find out more information about the certification process.

The community organization’s goal is to ensure citizens are informed and/or insured by the February 15, 2015 deadline.

For more information about the CAC program, contact Rev. George Britt, chair of Asbury Park CAN’s Health Committee, at 201-320-3721 or via email at GeorgeEricBritt@aol.com.

Britt is a pastor at the Allen AME church in the city.

Asbury Park CAN will host information and enrollment sessions on Jan. 13 and 17, and on Feb. 10 and 14. Locations and times are forthcoming.
