Vote on Asbury Park rent control referendum today
Choice is sticking with city council's rent control, or approving a new plan with the referendum
Asbury Park residents vote today, April 20, in a referendum to decide whose rent control ordinance will govern rentals in Asbury Park.
On March 10, the city council unanimously approved their rent control ordinance.
The referendum’s ordinance was submitted by a group of petitioners who got enough signatures for their plan to be on the ballot today. If the referendum passes, their rent control ordinance will take the place of the city council’s.

The polls are now open and will close at 8 p.m.
