Editor, Asbury Park Sun,
According to the Center for American Women and Politics at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University, “Research shows that women make government more transparent, inclusive and accessible. Women bring different priorities and experiences to public life, including perspectives that have been largely absent in public policymaking. Women change the way government works, and their voices are needed around the country.”
We are incredibly lucky in Asbury Park to have elected (and appointed) three smart and talented women to represent us on Council: Eileen Chapman, Yvonne Clayton and Amy Quinn. All happen to be running for reelection on November 8th as the Asbury Together ticket.
It’s incredibly important for our fair city that you get out and vote to put them back in office. Our diversity is our strength. There has never been a time in recent history when the Council has been as approachable. My experience is that the Asbury Together team is thoughtful, passionate and committed. Really natural born organizers, consistently making things happen for the greater good.
I am proud to support Asbury Together. Join me in making history on November 8th!
