APPD: Alternate Side of Street Parking Rules in Effect, Paid Parking Suspended Until Monday

The City of Asbury Park appreciates your patience with snow removal during this significant storm. Please see the following important information:
Where possible, today park on the odd side of the street. On Saturday park on the even side of the street.
Paid parking will be suspended until 9am on Monday.
Vehicles that are double-parked, parked in front of a fire hydrant or impeding the City’s clean up, etc. will still be ticketed.
Sidewalks should be cleared of snow by Sunday morning.
When shoveling, place snow up on the curb to prevent it from winding up in your driveway or that of your neighbors. This will help avoid accidents and delays in the plowing process.
Regular garbage collection resumed Friday.
The AP Public Library will be closed Fridayt.
Due to freezing temperatures water main breaks are more likely to occur. Should you have a problem, please call NJ American Water at 800-272-1325 or APPD at 732-774-1300.

AP Municipal Court will be delayed by one hour Friday.

Asbury Park Schools Will Be Closed Friday

Friday Garbage/Recycle Pick up for Zone 4 has been cancelled due to Winter Storm Grayson. Pickup will be held on Monday.
Monday Zone 1 and 2 Bulk Pick Up will be cancelled.

We urge residents to stay off the roads to allow crews to clear them.

DPD: The Governor has declared a State of Emergency for Monmouth County. Please stop all non essential travel so as not to interfere with emergency responders and plow operations.
8:41 a.m.
OTPD: Snow is now widespread and heavy across the region. Forecasted snow totals have increase. Winds are at 15-30 mph, with gusts increasing to 45 to 55 mph in the p.m.
Blizzard conditions and whiteouts likely through the afternoon. The blowing/drifting snow will be a major problem through Friday night.
All Ocean Township Municipal Offices are closed. The road department is out plowing. If you have a fire hydrant on your property make sure it’s dug out in the event of a fire.
6:40 a.m.
APPD: Asbury Park Schools are closed.
There will be no garbage or recycling pick up today.

3:54 a.m.
APPD: Blizzard Warning in effect through 7 p.m.
Wind Chill Advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday; expect wind chills to range from 5 below zero to 15 below zero
Up to 8 to 12 inches of snow expected.
Bitter cold temperatures will follow the storm.
Northerly winds gusting as high as 45 to 55 mph along the immediate coast will cause whiteout conditions Significant drifting of the snow is likely right through Friday night.
