An Ocean Grove woman was arrested on March 10 after she allegedly stabbed an acquaintance with a steak knife due to an argument over food at 2 a.m., Asbury Park Police Chief Mark Kinmon said.

Lorraine Swan, 49, was at her boyfriend’s house with him and his cousin when a fight broke out, Kinmon said.

“They were arguing about food,” he said. “They were cooking at the time.”

During the argument, Swan “took the steak knife and stabbed [her boyfriend’s cousin] and he received a small puncture wound, a minor injury,” Kinmon said.

All three were intoxicated, Kinmon said. The incident took place in the Boston Way Village apartments.

Swan was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon without a permit, and unlawful possession of weapons, according to police department records.
