Women Entrepreneurs To Rock The Stone Pony In October
Schlossbach To Be Honored At Fourth Annual Brookdale Small Biz Event
Asbury Park’s own restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach will be honored during next month’s New Jersey Small Business Development Center [NJSBDC] event at the legendary Stone Pony.
Schlossbach, the Executive Chef and Owner of Langosta Lounge, Pop’s Garage, Asbury Park Yacht Club, Labrador Lounge, What’s Your Beef and Marilyn Schlossbach Catering and Events, will receive the Humanitarianism and Badassery accolade, organizers said.
Known for her staunch support of environmental protection, Schlossbach hosts annual gratis community holiday meals and helped launch Interfaith Neighbors hospitality learn as you work program at Kula Cafe on Springwood Avenue in Asbury Park.
The annual Brookdale Community College event brings together business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs from the tristate region to facilitate a real dialog about topics that are important to women business owners.
A panel of six women will share their backgrounds, successes, challenges and offer advice to fellow business owners. There will also be a live Q&A exchange followed by an opportunity for networking.
Moderated by Roe Couture De Saro, author and owner of Gutsy Gals Get More, the panelists include:
Missy Tannen – Co-Founder & President, Boll & Branch
Paola Zamudio – Interior Designer and Founder of NPZ Style + Decor, and Creative Director at Bell Works
Janet Kraus – CEO of peach
Christine Zilinski – Owner of Salon Concrete
Jess Niederer – Owner of Chickadee Creek Farm
Jessica Lisboa, Founder/Editor This Season’s Gold
“This is, by far, not your standard business function,” said Jackeline Mejias-Fuertes, Regional Director of NJSBDC at Brookdale Community College. “From the venue to the speakers, our goal is to meet entrepreneurs where they live and offer current and candid insight, as we did in our previous events. No formalities and no canned responses…just real information from those who have successfully navigated the process of launching and growing a business.”
The free event, complete with door prizes and a cash bar, will be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at The Stone Pony, located at 913 Ocean Ave. To register, visit http://bit.ly/WER4 or call 732.842.8685. For more about Women Entrepreneurs Rock, click here.
