In a telephone conversation, Lampert said they thought it best to regroup at this time in order to organize an event that is clearly aligned with their mission to support equality not only with regard to women’s rights but those for all human rights and social justice issues.
“We will continue to be a well of positivity, unity and empowerment by teaming up with those on the front lines in the fight for social justice and organizing our own events in adherence to the agreements of the movement,” they say in a joint written statement. “It is this commitment that will sustain our spirits and harden our resolve on the long march ahead.”
Since the Jan. 21 event, the women have organized an Asbury Park Huddle, an awareness event aimed at motivating action, sparking awareness and educating voters. They most recently held an Earth Day event that solicited hundreds to form a FUND EPA message [above] that was sent to the White House.
All tickets for Saturday’s event will be refunded automatically, Lampert said.
