Wonder Bar hosts APMFF panels with industry professionals
Music and Film makers share behind the scenes snapshots
A weekend filled with a varied selection of music and film kicks off Friday and with it comes The Asbury Park Music in Film Festival’s behind the scenes snapshots of the industry that produces the very art being celebrated.
While the offerings include Friday night’s Q&A with “Miles Ahead” actor/director Don Cheadle following the screening, a Bob Dylan retrospective complete with screenings and panel discussions, and Sunday night’s send off at the Stone Pony with Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Tangiers Blues Band with Danny Clinch, the Foundation is offering an intimate look of the industry itself.
The “Business of Music & Film” and “Made in Asbury Park” sessions at the Wonder Bar will be offered for $20 and $10, respectively.
“Business of Music & Film” starting at 1 p.m. Saturday features a panel discussion with Sony Legacy Recordings President Adam Block and film producer, musician and comics’ publisher Josh Braun. The event is moderated by Q104.3 radio host Shelli Sonstein.
Attendees will get an inside look at how creative music integration works. With a goal of sparking innovated avenues for music distribution, the practice has grown in importance with in the ever changing music industry.
“Made in Asbury Park” starting at 2:30 p.m. brings recording artists, record producers, record label owners, recording studio owners, band managers and Grammy winners who call Asbury Park home for a panel discussion moderated by Asbury Park Press entertainment writer Alex Biese.
Lakehouse Academy’s Jon Leidersdorff, Grammy winner Tom Ruff of Asbury Media, Little Dickman Records owners Chris Yaniak and Amy Earixson, nightlife impresario Jenn Hampton of Asbury Lanes and Parlor Gallery, and record producer/artist Paul Ritchie of Parlor Mob are the featured speakers.
The Wonder Bar is located at the corner Ocean and Fifth avenues, across from the historic Asbury Park Convention Hall.
