Young authors celebrate published volume today
Public invited to Big Brothers Big Sisters Open House at 4
Asbury Park’s youngest published authors are celebrating their published volume of work with an open house today at Big Brothers Big Sisters at 4 p.m.
The event will also function as a ribbon cutting for Big Brothers and Big Sisters’ [BBBS] new Asbury Park headquarters at 305 Bond St.
The book is a collection of stories written by eight “littles” from the BBBS Asbury chapter. The children met with mentors every other week for several months to refine their writing skills as a group. The program was called Storytellers Asbury Park.
At BBBS, littles age 12 and under are matched with big mentors. Starting in mid-June, the big-little pairs were given the opportunity to participate in Storytellers Asbury Park.
The littles will be present to sign books for the public.
