Zombie Walk and City Wide Yard Sale set for Saturday
No parking in effect from noon to 8 p.m. along Cookman
The Zombie Walk and city-wide yard sale events, postponed due to last weekend’s inclement weather will be held Saturday.
The yard sale, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will benefit two local Animal Rescue Groups – Wag on Inn and Rescue Ridge. Pet food, cages, blankets, leashes, and toys are being accepted at 1105 Fifth Avenue. Maps are available at the Police Department and City Hall and on the Facebook page.
The Zombie Walk kicks off at 10 a.m. in front of the Carousel House on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. Makeup artists will be on hand.
The walk will traverse from Convention Hall toward the Carousel House, up Asbury Avenue to Cookman Avenue. The walk ends at Main Street and is followed by a gathering in Merchants Park complete with a DJ.
Zombie after parties throughout the city are slated to begin at 7 p.m., with official events at Johnny Mac’s House of Spirits and The Stone Pony.
The Asbury Park Police Department has issued a no parking notice for the 600 and 700 blocks of Cookman Avenue from noon to 8 p.m.
“The aforementioned blocks will be posted and summonses/towing will be enforced,” department spokesman Michael Casey said.
Zombie Walk is produced by Johnny Mac’s owner John McGillion in conjunction with the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce and Madison Marquette.
