The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall. A closed executive session will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by a public workshop session at 6:30 p.m. and the regular council meeting at 7 p.m.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda include:
• Executive session discussions regarding the city manager and city clerk search updates, police department staffing issues, the pending 2014 election litigation, and potential litigation with Madison Marquette for alleged waterfront project defaults.
• Contract negotiation discussions during the executive session will include the potential sale of 1506 Park Avenue, a proposed shared service agreement for the video camera project, and potential parking agreements with iStar and Carter Sackman.
• During the regular session the City Council will vote on the summer beach schedule and its rates.
• A vacant property ordinance establishing guidelines and fees will be introduced.
• A public hearing will be held for the newly formed Director of Communications position and its $55,000 to $98,000 salary range.
• The 2015 municipal budget will be introduced.
