Punk Rock Bowling Festival Coming To Asbury Park
Registration and Tickets available for 3-day event at The Stone Pony
Punk Rock Bowler’s itching to partake in the 18th anniversary showcase this June at The Stone Pony Summer Stage can register and buy tickets for the two-day event.
Organizers announced this weekend that the new east coast contingent in Asbury Park will take place 2 to 10 p.m. June 11 and 12.
“Due to overwhelming demand from our East Coast brethren that just can’t make the cross country trek to the City of Sin, we will celebrate our 18th Birthday on both coasts for 2016,” organizers said in a news release.
Created in 1999 by brothers Shawn and Mark Stern, owners of BYO Records, as a way to bring the independent music community together, the Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival has grown into a 5-day festival in downtown Las Vegas and now a three day event in Asbury Park.
A gathering of punk fans and bands alike from all over the world, the two-day bowling tournament includes an array of club shows, to be announced in March. They are slated for June 10 and 11 in various venues around the boardwalk.
The Saturday festival showcase include performances by the Descendents, Dag Nasty, Subhumans, H2O, 88 Fingers Loui, Giuda, Iron Chic, Sketchy, and Lost in Society.
On Sunday Cock Sparrer, Flag, Agnostic Front, The Slackers, Anti-Nowhere League, Off With Their Heads, Drug Church, The Scandals, and Brutal Youth are headlining.
