The Asbury Park Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for one of the city’s main arteries.
Traffic is closed along Route 71 between Third and Fifth avenues due to down power lines, officials said.
According to JCP&L outage report web page close to 2,000 Monmouth County residents are without power following Wednesday night’s storm that came with flood, tornado and thunderstorm warnings.
The utility company estimates just over 100 city customers were affected.
Power is expected to be restored by 4 p.m.
