Public Skatepark, Beach WiFi, & Mobile Beach Badge APP on Agenda

The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.

A public participation session is scheduled to take place near the end of the meeting, after comments from city officials. Items on the agenda for the meeting include:

• Special event applications include requests for the May 1 NJ AIDS walk, May 21 Bike MS, July 16 and 17 Best Day Foundation event to benefit special needs children, July 16 and 17 beach Diva Dodgeball, July 30 Igelsia Revival, July 30 and 31 Art Star Craft Bazaar, July 31 Cathedral International Ocean Baptism, August 20 A Day of Hope Family Festival, and Fifth Avenue Beach Wedding applications.

• Asbury Park Skateboard Foundation’s Brian Watkins will make a presentation for creating a state-of-the-art public skate park.

• City Manager Michael Capabianco is expected to discuss establishing WiFi capabilities along the beach, the annual FEMA SAFER Grant for fire and emergency staffing, and a Mobile App for summer beach badges.
