Asbury Park Fire Department Seeks New Members
Keddy: Applications Will Be Accepted Through Aug 31
The Asbury Park Fire Department is accepting applications for residents wanting to join the 50 member paid force, Chief Kevin Keddy said.
Applications are available online and will be accepted through August 31 for entry-level positions, Keddy said.
According to career match site Sokanu, an average hourly wage in New Jersey for entry level firefighters is $21.47. Salaries typically start from $44,660 and go up to $118,230.
An orientation guide is available via the NJ Civil Service Commision website. The guide outlines the testing process, along with ways in which candidates can prepare for the exam.
Ideal candidates should be between the ages of 18 to 34, a US citizen, live in Asbury Park, have a valid state driver’s license, high school diploma or GED.
Testing is currently planned for the Fall of 2018.
