The Asbury Park Mayor and City Council released a written statement Wednesday afternoon to address the resignation of its top executive – City Manager Michael Capabianco:
“The Mayor and Council of the City of Asbury Park have confirmed that City Manager Michael Capabianco has submitted his resignation. Mr. Capabianco has served in the City Manager post since his initial appointment on October 28, 2015. Mr. Capabianco’s final day will be November 30, 2019. The entire Governing Body wishes to recognize and thank Mr. Capabianco for his many achievements on behalf of the City during his tenure, which have improved the health, safety and welfare of the City and its residents, and wish to offer him their best wishes with his future endeavors. The Mayor and Council will be moving forward to appoint an interim replacement for Mr. Capabianco at an upcoming Council meeting.”
Capabianco could not be reached for comment.
