Fetish, Confections of a Rock Star windows decorations tie
Heaven & Art Antiques wins for small display
The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners for the 2013 Downtown holiday window decorating competition.
Criteria for judging was based in four areas this year, according to Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce executive director Jackie Pappas. The winners were chosen by their ability to create a holiday mood, reflect a theme or a story, demonstrate creativity and present an overall pleasing design.
Ken Roth, a lifetime member of the Chamber of Commerce and the creator of the window decoration competition, assisted Pappas with the judging, she said.
First place in the “large window” competition turned out to be a tie between Confections of a Rockstar and Fetish boutique.
“I loved the brightness and the energy that it created for the center of Cookman Avenue,” Pappas said about the Fetish window display. “Confections was innovative and definitely stood out on that slick block as creating a ‘homey’ feel.”
The two winners take home $50 gift certificates to Moonstruck restaurant.
Heaven & Art Antiques took home a $20 gift certificate from Fish restaurant for winning the “small window” competition.
Honorable mentions include Shelter Home, Toast and Robert Legere Design.
All of the winners and honorable mentions received complimentary access to 12 of the chamber’s regular business card exchanges.
“I would like to thank all of the restaurants that donated the prizes,” said Pappas, “so we are all helping each other’s businesses out.”
