Four seek appointment to vacant City Council Seat
Grillo, Harris, Lowell, & Schlossbach submit ahead of Friday deadline
Four applicants have put in their bids for the Asbury Park City Council seat left vacant when Councilman Joe Woerner stepped down last month.
In alphabetical order they are Democratic Chair Giuseppe Grillo, community leader Daniel Harris, former Board of Education member Corey Lowell, and restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach.
Woerner, a 10 year city resident, stepped down last in order to focus on his family and the health of his toddler son Michael, he said during the City Council April 27 meeting.
Applications with a cover letter and resume will be accepted through Friday, city officials said. Interested candidates can apply physically at the City Clerk’s office at One Municipal Plaza or send information via e-mail to cindy.dye@cityofasburypark.com.
The City Council will conduct interviews with each prospective candidate prior to announcing their appointment, expected to be made during the second regular meeting of the month on May 25.
