A man’s body was found off of Second Avenue last month after four people were rescued — and the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County is holding a Learn-to-Swim Program for youngsters on Tuesday in response to the accident.
“We want to ensure that all kids are educated about water safety and proper swimming before entering a pool or ocean,” said Jaclyn Boruch, marketing director of the organization, in an email today.
Congressman Frank Pallone [D-06] is attending the session to talk to the youths about water safety. The Learn-to-Swim Program takes place on Tuesday, July 3, at 2 p.m. at the club’s headquarters at 1201 Monroe Ave.
The educational session is open to all children ages six to 12.
