Knife Wielding Teens Demand Alcohol From Dog Walker
Juveniles remanded to Youth Detention Center on Armed Robbery Charges
Two Ocean Township teens were arrested Saturday in connection with an armed robbery at the Twinbrook Village apartments, according to a news release.
The 17-year-olds were charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, Ocean Township Police Department officials said.
The charges stem from the 9:28 p.m. incident along Aldrin Road. Officials said an unidentified victim was walking his dog when one of the teens engaged him in conversation. The second juvenile approached with a knife and demanded alcohol from the victim.
The victim made a call to a friend, who notified police and brought the alcohol to the location. Once in possession of the alcohol, the two juveniles fled, officials said. The victim was unharmed. The teens were later found in the area and investigating officers recovered the alcohol and the knife.
The juveniles were remanded to the Middlesex Youth Detention Center officials said.
Police Officers Joseph Larkins, Dave Marino, Sgt Jeff Malone, and Detectives Steven Walker and Chris Brady investigated.
