Langosta to host Thanksgiving dinner, clothing drive
Those in need of a hot meal or community camaraderie invited
Oceanfront restaurant and bar Langosta Lounge will again partner with Trinity Church to host its annual Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner.
Open to the public and free of charge, the dinner will be served from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27. Anyone in need of a free hot meal or the company of the community is invited to attend.
Since its inception in 2006, the Thanksgiving Community Dinner has served as a resource for community members who seek a delectable home-cooked holiday meal or warm, lightly worn clothing and coats. Guests will enjoy hearty helpings of holiday staples and volunteers will serve table-side coffee and beverages, pack take-home meals, and sort canned goods and winter clothing — which sets Langosta Lounge’s oceanfront Community Dinner apart from traditional holiday soup kitchens.
Based on previous years’ attendance, hundreds of guests are expected to enjoy dinner and utilize the clothing drive.
“Our Thanksgiving Community Dinner aims to alleviate some of the financial stress that so often comes along with the holiday season,” said Langosta Lounge owner Marilyn Schlossbach. “By offering people the comforts associated with Langosta Lounge, we aim to provide a family-friendly environment that offers a warm and inviting holiday experience to those who need it.”
In addition to the Thanksgiving dinner, Schlossbach similarly serves complimentary community dinners on Christmas and Easter.
Langosta Lounge currently seeks donations of cooked hams and desserts, as well as lightly worn warm clothing and coats in support of this year’s dinner.

Langosta Lounge is located at 1000 Ocean Ave.
