A benefit in support of the Asbury Park Skateboard Foundation [APSF] will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Little Buddy Hideaway of Cookman Avenue.skate-asbury

As progress moves forward with the local nonprofit’s goal to construct a permanent skateboarding park, its organizers’ missions of running youth clinics are being realized.

A temporary home, complete with a donated wooden skate bowl is coming soon to the Carousel, and this year saw a partnership with two national skateboarding organization to help further the mission. Alliances with Boards for Bros and A.Skate translate respectively into the refurbishment and donation of skateboards to kids, as well as one on one tutorials for children with special needs.

Thursday’s fundraising event features skate videos, music and venue specials, with portions of the night’s proceeds going toward the nonprofit’s Skate Asbury mission.

Little Buddy Hideaway is located at 550 Cookman Ave, [through the Annex]. For more information, visit Skate Asbury.
