Editor, the Asbury Park Sun:
I have lived on Cookman Avenue in downtown Asbury Park for three years. Every year, I look forward to spring and summer and the wonderful weather that they bring.
Prior to moving here, I grew up in the neighboring town of Ocean Township.
The part I cringe about is the extremely loud motorcycles that decide to parade up and down the street at all times of the day. The sound from the exhaust is deafening and on many occasions, I have had to pause conversations within my apartment until the bikes have passed.
They’ll drive by very early in the morning and very late at night. Almost always the same bikes will just run circles through Cookman Avenue.
I have tried to record some of the nuisance with my laptop’s mic and camera phone, but my available equipment does not do it justice.
We have noise ordinances and these guys do not adhere to them whatsoever. I wish I had the proper equipment to record the decibel levels and present it to the town.
Please help!
