Asbury Park Police are still investigating the death of a prominent city real estate agent who fell from the The Santander condominium building Sunday.

Jay Bernstein, a local Realtor with the Conover Agency, fell from a fire escape that was connected to the penthouse unit he lived in on the ninth floor of the historic structure, Asbury Park Police Captain Marshawn Love confirmed.

Bernstein was pronounced dead at the scene. The county medical examiners office is currently performing an autopsy on the body to determine the cause of death, Love said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Asbury Park Police Det. Steven Ramseur at 732.502.4587.

Bernstein moved from Manhattan to Asbury Park in 1999. He started his work with the Conover Agency shortly thereafter,  according to their website.
