JCP&L spokesman Ron Morano said service was restored by 12:17 p.m. to the businesses and homes in the downtown area affected by a power outage Monday morning.

Morano said the outage happened at 10:44 a.m. and affected 329 of its customers.

Asbury Park Police Department spokesman Sgt. Carmen Gagliano said the outages ran along Cookman Avenue from the 400 to 700 blocks.

The Asbury Park Fire Department responded and police officers directed traffic at intersection with downed traffic lights, Gagliano said. Some roadways were blocked from traffic during the outage, Gagliano said.

Morano said no official cause has been determined.
