Santander resident falls to death from ninth floor
Victim was local realtor Jay Bernstein
A resident of the Santander condominium building fell to his death today from the ninth floor, and police are investigating whether the incident was an accident or suicide, according to Detective Lt. David DeSane of the Asbury Park Police Department.
The victim was Jay Bernstein, a local realtor, according to Councilwoman Amy Quinn, a friend of Bernstein’s and fellow Santander resident.
Police were observed on the scene at approximately 12:30 p.m.
The Santander is located at the corner of Deal Lake Drive and Park Avenue.
Bernstein owned a penthouse unit on the ninth floor of the building. He was an agent at the John C. Conover Agency in Asbury Park.

Jay is an avid sailor, cook, and traveler.
