"Love Wins" has won or been a finalist in over 10 film festivals nationwide
A screening and discussion of the short documentary “Love Wins” at the St. Laurent Social Club on Wednesday, Feb. 8, will benefit Project R.E.A.L., which serves local youth in the LGBT community.
“Love Wins” has won or been a finalist in over 10 film festivals nationwide and aired on PBS. The short 2018 documentary film tells the true story of two local women, Emily Sonessa and Jan Moore of Ocean Grove, who fell in love during a time when it was considered taboo and maintained their relationship for 50 years. They finally got married in 2014 when marriage equality became law of the land.
The screening will be followed by a Talkback with Moore and Robin Kampf, who wrote and directed the film.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with the screening at 7 p.m. and the Talkback at 7:30 p.m. The St. Laurent Social Club is located at 408 Seventh Avenue, Asbury Park.
The $20 ticket price will be donated to Project R.E.A.L. To purchase tickets, go to exploretock.com, search Heirloom at The St. Laurent and then scroll to Love Wins screening.
